A New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestselling book. Archer’s Voice is a full-length, standalone romance.
When Bree Prescott arrives in the sleepy, lakeside town of Pelion, Maine, she hopes against hope that this is the place where she will finally find the peace she so desperately seeks. On her first day there, her life collides with Archer Hale, an isolated man who holds a secret agony of his own. A man no one else sees.
Archer’s Voice is the story of a woman chained to the memory of one horrifying night and the man whose love is the key to her freedom. It is the story of a silent man who lives with an excruciating wound and the woman who helps him find his voice. It is the story of suffering, fate, and the transformative power of love.
I moved this book way up my TBR pile to read immediately due to the crazy high Goodreads rating. (4.47 with over 56K ratings.) Wow. That’s high. My thoughts, for what it’s worth…. Continue reading “Review: Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan (2014)”

This book is on the Romantic Times list 1000 Best Romances.
The plot of this book features a familiar trope of reunited lovers. A woman has a one-night stand in college, ends up pregnant with no way to contact the man. She drops out, has the child, and five years later the man just happens to show up in her small towns (let’s say the fates are kind). The man has no idea he has a child, but he’s never forgotten the woman. While the plot sounds simple, the writing is not. It’s marvelous. I liked the cover and blurb on this book, so I dove in regardless of the fact that I haven’t read any of the earlier “Fool’s Gold” books (or Susan Mallery for that matter). Although there were a lot of side characters in this book that had obviously been part of earlier work, I didn’t find that too much of a distraction from the main love story, and I’m glad I picked this up.
