Being an assistant/housekeeper/fairy godmother to the top defensive end in the National Football Organization was always supposed to be temporary. She has plans and none of them include washing extra-large underwear longer than necessary.

But when Aiden Graves shows up at her door wanting her to come back, she’s beyond shocked.

For two years, the man known as The Wall of Winnipeg couldn’t find it in him to tell her good morning or congratulate her on her birthday. Now? He’s asking for the unthinkable. Continue reading “Review: The Wall of Winnepeg by Mariana Zapata (2016)”

Review:

This book is on the Romantic Times list 1000 Best Romances.

The plot of this book features a familiar trope of reunited lovers. A woman has a one-night stand in college, ends up pregnant with no way to contact the man. She drops out, has the child, and five years later the man just happens to show up in her small towns (let’s say the fates are kind). The man has no idea he has a child, but he’s never forgotten the woman. While the plot sounds simple, the writing is not. It’s marvelous. Review:

I liked the cover and blurb on this book, so I dove in regardless of the fact that I haven’t read any of the earlier “Fool’s Gold” books (or Susan Mallery for that matter). Although there were a lot of side characters in this book that had obviously been part of earlier work, I didn’t find that too much of a distraction from the main love story, and I’m glad I picked this up.  Continue reading “Review: Best of My Love by Susan Mallery (2016)”
